The Charts: Person of Interest Falls Out of the Top 25

person-of-interest-cancelledFor the first time since maybe before Person of Interest debuted four years ago, it fell out of the Top 25 based on total viewers.  I did not keep that close an eye on the charts during the first two years the show was on the air, so I can’t say for certain, but last week was definitely the first time in the during the show’s third or fourth season that a new episode did not make it into the Top 25.  Mind you that it was right at the cusp, probably in the 26th or 27th slot, but not good enough to get into the Top 25.  That show has definitely seen a drop in its numbers this year and reached a series low in ratings last week with only a 1.3 score in the 18-49 demographic based on the overnights.  It did rebound this week, though, and will almost certainly return to the Top 25 when the numbers are tallied, but the show is sliding in its fourth year.  Still, based on its relative ratings it doesn’t look to bad and CBS usually keeps shows like this around to plug up the 10 PM EST hours across the week, so I don’t think it is in danger at its current levels. If it sinks any further, though, then CBS may think long and hard about bringing it back for a fifth year.

Most of the usual suspects were on the charts for the week, with Agents of SHIELD, The Flash, and Supernatural returning to the General Sentiment charts tracking social network activity after their one week off (and the latter entry jumped up with its 200th episode).  And The Walking Dead once again dominated most of the charts that it appeared on.

Here is the full look at chart activity for genre shows for the week of October 10th thru 16th:
