Description: Based on characters and themes from Anne Rice’s Immortal Universe, Talamasca focuses on a secretive agency that monitors and protects us from the supernatural world. The series follows Guy Anatole, who falls headlong into a world of secret agents and immortal beings who, up to now, have maintained a fragile balance with the mortal world.

Why Was It Cancelled? This series averaged only a 0.02 rating (two one-hundredths of a ratings point) based on same-day viewing for the 18–49 demographic with around 200K total viewers for its linear broadcasts. The network did not share the streaming numbers for its run on AMC+, but those apparently were not enough to help it, and they decided to cancel it after one season (more on that at this link). There is a chance that characters from Talamasca could appear on the other shows in AMC’s Immortal Universe, so that may give this one an opportunity to wrap up some unresolved storylines.
