Description: The good. The evil. The beginning. Everyone knows the name Commissioner Gordon. He is one of the crime world’s greatest foes, a man whose reputation is synonymous with law and order. But what is known of Gordon’s story and his rise from rookie detective to Police Commissioner? What did it take to navigate the multiple layers of corruption that secretly ruled Gotham City, the spawning ground of the world’s most iconic villains? And what circumstances created them – the larger-than-life personas who would become Catwoman, The Penguin, The Riddler, Two-Face and The Joker? GOTHAM is an origin story of the great DC Comics Super-Villains and vigilantes, revealing an entirely new chapter that has never been told. FOX.com

Why Did It End? This series debuted with decent ratings in its first season, but saw those go on a regular decline in subsequent years. Still, it performed well enough to run for five season and one hundred episodes and complete its story about Batman’s origin (as well as the origins of Commissioner Gordon and Gotham’s colorful villains) with the Dark Knight finally making an appearance in the final episode.

  1. Gotham is one of the best-produced series to hit television in awhile. It is superbly unveiling the origins of the villains, has the storylines and great acting, and if it were cancelled the 3.5 million regular viewers would be upset to never learn what was left in the hopper. Please renew this show, it is entertainment at the highest level on network TV. Move the night and the ratings will jump. Mondays are tough with Monday Night Football, WWE Raw, and many other networks best offerings.

  2. hi I think gotham is a good show but I think it would be better if it goes off the air and it is making copy cats I have seen people do what they do on ther so that is why I think it would be better if it goes .

  3. North needs to head South, and Joker is nothing but a piece of ignorant trash! Your ranting only shows why my country is falling apart! You don’t even give any valid points whatsoever. It’s nothing but out of control stupidity! Go back to watching Modern Family, 2 Broke Girls, Mom and MSNBC, and leave more complex programming to the adults. I am surprised your even home on Monday nights anyways, doesn’t that get in the way of your work shift at McDonald’s? What a douche!

  4. This show is the biggest piece of steaming sh!t I have ever seen. The acting is absolutely awful. This show needs cancelled immediately. Only m0r0n Donald Chump supporting conservative republicans would find this show appealing. It is basically Gotham without Batman. Hey, I got an idea for the next series, Metropolis; it stars the city without Superman. Sounds good too me. The acting is absolutely awful. The show is a failure, it just goes to show half this country is a bunch of ignorant, uneducated dumb@$$e$ who needs to be shipped to China where they belong. It should not surprise me it airs on the Fox network, the biggest republican conservative right wing m0r0n channel that has ever existed.

  5. Gotham is awsome when it first came out i was in the service so didnt have too much time to be watching shows but now im all good and cant wait to keep watching whats next haha

  6. The villains and street thugs are racially diverse, working together with the “Italian?!!!” mafia to corrupt the white-Britist-sir-Master-Wayne’s city… Nice, I guess this is why Batman have two horns, these aren’t bat’s horns after all…

  7. Gotham is awesome! Finally, a great show that develops the Batman characters. The acting is great and the directing is great but best of all is a thrilling plot that pulls the audience into the next episode and the next season. Having a relationship with the characters is far more important than computer generated action – action – action.

I’m getting bored with all the fast paced, modern action movies where some movie star survives a fall from a 50 story skyscraper while dodging a barrage of thousands of bullets from fully automatic weapons. Unrealistic! Does Hollywood think we’re that stupid? Give me something that I can at least believe in and have some hope of reality that it could possibly happen…… even for a superhero.

I was a Batman fan back in the 60s with Adam West and the original series. Corny as those shows may seem to us today, look what they developed into! I seem to remember another Sci-Fi series of the 60s that nearly met it’s doom several times…… Star Trek! Look what that became…… one of the largest and most dedicated fan followings in history with a series of successful movies and spin off episodes to boot.

Do not judge everything by ratings alone. Some things take time to develop into greatness.

    Gotham must live on!
