Description: This horror thriller follows gifted criminal profiler Will Graham as he assists the Federal Bureau of Investigation in tracking down serial killers. To help cope with the emotional toll of his work, Will begins seeing renowned psychiatrist Hannibal Lecter, unaware that the sophisticated doctor is himself a brilliant and cannibalistic serial killer. As the two develop an increasingly complex relationship built on manipulation, fascination, and psychological warfare, Will is drawn into a deadly game that blurs the line between hunter and prey.

Why Was It Cancelled? Series showrunner and executive producer Bryan Fuller probably explained best why the show was cancelled in his statement following the announcement:
NBC has allowed us to craft a television series that no other broadcast network would have dared, and kept us on the air for three seasons despite Cancellation Bear Chow ratings and images that would have shredded the eyeballs of lesser Standards & Practices enforcers.
This one never pulled high numbers from the Nielsen results during its initial run, though it did get good marks from critics and received a lot of attention on social media. After the cancellation, the property was shopped around, though it was never picked up be another venue. Fuller has continued to express an interest in returning to the show, and its arrival on Netflix could generate some interest in that direction. Fans should make some noise and perhaps stage watch parties to get the show in that streamer’s Top 10, and perhaps a fourth season could happen at some point.
