Paramount+ is apparently all-in on the Avatar franchise because they have renewed Seven Havens through its fourth season while giving the greenlight for another entry in the universe. Announced at the New York Comic Con, Avatar: Seven Havens will continue through a fourth year with each season being referred to as a “book”. The animated series, which just premiered today, had alredy been picked up for a second year, and now the streaming service is committing to two more after that. There is no word on whether the series will wrap up at that point, but it seems likely seeing as Avatar: The Last Airbender went for three seasons and The Legend of Korra went for four. The first season of Seven Havens consists of thirteen episodes–releasing three per week–and subsequent seasons should have a similar episode count.
As for the new series, Deadline gives the following description:
Avatar Kuruk: Wave of Chaos follows a rebellious teenage Avatar, who bucks thousands of years of tradition by choosing to learn the four elements through globetrotting adventures, staying one step ahead of his angry teacher, rowdy pirates, and chaotic spirits – all while helping the world in his own unique ways.
Avatar: The Last Airbender co-creator Bryan Konietzko will be onboard as showrunner that this one, and it will likely be looking at a late 2027 premiere at the earliest.
Avatar: Seven Havens already counted as renewed in the Cancellaton/Renewal Score for the 2026-27 season because of the advance Year 2 pickup. The score is currently at 7 renewed sci fi and fantasy entries (26% of shows tracked) vs. 12 cancelled and ending (44%). You can see the breakdown of the numbers and the full list of shows for the current and prior seasons on our Cancellation Watch Page.
Avatar: Seven Havens takes place after the events of The Legend of Korra and follows a young Earthbender who discovers that she is the new Avatar following Korra’s death. However, in a world devastated by a catastrophic event, the Avatar is now viewed as a threat rather than a savior. Hunted by both human and spirit enemies, she must uncover the truth about the disaster while struggling to restore balance to a fractured world. The voice cast includes Saheli Khan, Aishu Devan, Akshay Khanna, Major Curda, and Sakina Jaffrey.
