Will Talamasca: The Secret Order be cancelled or will it continue to Season 2?

Will Talamasca: The Secret Order Be Cancelled or Will It Continue to a Second Season?

Talamasca: The Secret Order has not drawn strong viewership in its inaugural run, but a push from fans could help it get a second season.

What Is It?

This series is set in Anne Rice’s Immortal Universe, and it follows Guy Anatole, a gifted young lawyer with telepathic abilities, who is recruited into the Talamasca, a mysterious, centuries-old secret society that monitors and contains supernatural beings like vampires, witches, and demons to maintain the balance between the mortal and immortal worlds. As Guy is drawn deeper into the organization’s clandestine missions, he uncovers dark secrets about both the supernatural and his own past.

Why Is It in Danger?

This latest entry in AMC’s Immortal Universe—which includes Interview with the Vampire and Mayfair Witches—premiered in Fall 2025, but it did not draw large viewership according to the Nielsen numbers. It averaged only a 0.02 rating (two one-hundredths of a ratings point) based on same-day viewing for the 18–49 demographic with around 200K total viewers for its linear broadcasts. That is lower than the other entries in the franchise, though not by much, as none of these shows have drawn much attention to AMC for their live broadcasts.

It is possible that Talamasca is making up some slack with digital viewing, but AMC has not shared those numbers and has put out no statements to tout the viewership of the show. If it had performed well for their streaming arm, I’m sure we would have seen something to celebrate the accomplishment. But for the most part, the show came and went with very little attention, even though AMC did give it a notable marketing push leading up to the premiere.

The network has remained silent on the show’s fate since it wrapped up its first season in November, but that is not uncommon for the linear channels. An announcement could come during the TCAs (which are about to commence) or later in the season at AMC’s Upfront presentation. My guess is that they will not want to cancel this third entry in the franchise that they are latching onto as a replacement for The Walking Dead, and more is planned for this one. But the numbers are not great so far, and the network could just absorb the characters and unresolved storylines into the other shows if Talamasca does not continue. I am not moving this one to Bubble status just yet, but I consider it very close. And the longer AMC waits to announce its fate, the less likely it is to get a second season renewal.

What Can Fans Do to Help the Show?

At this point, fans need to watch the show and get the word out about it to help its chances for renewal. It is streaming on AMC+ and on Netflix internationally.  Plus, the first episode is available for free (with ads) on The Roku Channel. If fans were to stage watch parties, that would be noticed because those views will be counted. They should also start making some noise on social networks to bring more attention to the show and prove that it has a strong following. AMC has not made a decision on this one yet, so a strong push from the fans could nudge them toward a second-season renewal.

  1. Please renew the Talamasca!!! It was incredible especially set in London, Nicholas Denton is amazing and classy, so is Jasper and the leading lady.. the show is classy.

  2. I love The Talamasca and watched all six episodes three times. The production values are top notch, as is the acting. The scripts are compelling and leave you hungry for more.

I WOULD DEFINITELY WATCH IT, IF YOU GIVE IT A CHANCE TO DEVELOP AN AUDIENCE.
How can you think of wasting William Fichtner?
