Sci Fi TV Production Report: Tracking the sci fi and fantasy shows currently moving into development/production based on the listings from Production Weekly. Note that appearing on that list does not guarantee that the series will move forward.

Following are the genre entries of note included in the listings for November 6th:
For All Mankind (Apple TV) Season 6
A premiere date has not been announced yet for the fifth season of the alternate timeline series For All Mankind, but apparently work is already progressing on the sixth season of the show. There has also not been an official renewal, but this would suggest that pre-production is moving forward. The fifth season was announced in April 2024, and that is likely on track to premiere early to mid-2026. Getting things started on the next season should reduce the gap between seasons which has become frustratingly long for streaming shows. The creators have a seven-season plan for the series, which is ambitious for a streaming original, but this seems to have it on track to at least come close to that goal. Spin-off series Star City is also set to premiere at some point in 20206.
American Horror Story (FX) Season 13
It has been over two years since the twelfth season of this show premiered, and now the thirteenth finally appears to be moving forward. A casting announcement was made last week that indicated that Ariana Grande would be coming onboard along with series regulars Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Gabourey Sidibe, and Leslie Grossman. Now the thirteenth season is showing up in the latest Production Weekly listings which means that work is progressing on the show. And considering that this one is getting long in the tooth and the ratings have been slipping, I would not be surprised if this will be its final season, the number 13 being an appropriate one to wrap up on. The show usually has its premiere around Halloween, so look for Season 13 to arrive at some point in Fall 2026. There has been no word yet on a fourth season of spin-off series American Horror Stories.
