Sci Fi TV News of Note:
Owlcat Games has announced that they are developing the game The Expanse: Osiris Reborn which is a spin-off of the TV series and takes place during the first two-and-a-half seasons of the show. Following is the description from the website:
The Expanse: Osiris Reborn is a third-person sci-fi action RPG set in the universe of The Expanse, where the tenuous balance of power between Earth, Mars, and the Belt is on the brink of collapse, and trust is a scarce commodity. Now it is time to gather a crew and find your own path through the web of lies to leave your mark on the solar system. By the 24th century, humanity has conquered the cosmos, but that hasn’t made life any easier. What begins as a brief sojourn on the asteroid Eros reluctantly entangles you in a solar system-wide conspiracy. You will need to adapt to survive and keep your motley crew united in their mission as everything around you begins to fall apart. This is your story. The Expanse: Osiris Reborn offers a truly personal journey that evolves based on the choices you make and the pressures they place on everything you stand for.
A release date has not been announced yet, but you have a chance to become a founder by buying the digital packs available from the website.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds will be coming to an end with its fifth season. Paramount announced this week that the show will get a six-episode send-off for its final year which should give the creative team plenty of time to wrap up the show’s storylines. The third season is set to premiere July 17th and production has begun on the fourth season.
The long-awaited third season of Genndy Tartakovsky’s Primal finally has a release window of early 2026. Some episodes have already been completed and Tartakovsky is currently working on the remaining eps.
For those who are watching Prime Video and thinking the ads have increased, they have. That service has expanded its ad spots to six minutes per hour, and it appears it will be holding at that level. An ad-free option is available for Prime Video at a higher charge.
