Digital Ratings: The Witcher Blood Origin Improves, Wednesday Holds at Number 1, and More

Digital Ratings: Viewership results for the sci fi and fantasy shows on the streaming services. See our Cancellation Watch posts for the linear ratings from the broadcast networks and cable shows.

Note: The Digital Ratings results from last week were included in Tuesday’s Cancellation Watch post because the Nielsen Rankings were delayed due to the holiday.

Netflix Top 10:

The Witcher: Blood Origin improved to the Number 3 slot in the Netflix Top 10 for the week of December 26th to January 1st, pulling in 65 million hours of viewing. That is intended as a close-ended mini-series, but the showrunners have indicated that the story could continue if Netflix wants more from that part of The Witcher‘s world. Wednesday remained at the Number 1 slot for a sixth week in a row and presumably the streamer will announce a second season for that one at some point. In the Non-English Language charts, Alchemy of Souls Part 2 slipped one slot to Number 6 in its third week of release, but more could be on the way from that one. Following are all the sci fi and fantasy TV shows on the Netflix charts for the week (the number in parenthesis is the prior week rank):

Nielsen Streaming Top 10

Netflix’s Wednesday (Renewal Possible) maintained its lock on the top spot of the Nielsen Streaming Top 10 for originals for the week of December 5th to 11th. And 1899 (Cancelled) slipped to Number 9 with 321 million minutes watched. Season 4 of HBO Max’s Doom Patrol (Renewal Possible) and the first season of Netflix’s Dragon Age: Absolution (On the Bubble) premiered that week but did not make it into the Top 10.  And Disney+’s Willow (Renewal Possible) has still not made an appearance in the charts.  Following are all the sci fi and fantasy TV shows on the streaming charts for the week (the number in parenthesis is the prior week rank):
