Moonhaven Has Been Renewed for a Second Season by AMC+

AMC+ has given a second season renewal to its lunar-based sci fi drama Moonhaven.  That show debuted earlier this month and has become the most-watched exclusive series on the streaming service.  It did not receive much promotion prior to its premiere, but it has been picking up some good word-of-mouth the last few weeks and AMC has started running more ads for the show.  The first season will consist of six episodes and the second year will have the same episode count.  That is expected to arrive at some point in 2023.

There still has been no word on the other AMC+ genre entry Firebite.  That Australian-made vampire series debuted earlier this year but has not received a second season renewal.  With Moonhaven getting a fairly quick pickup and the amount of time that has passed since the first season of Firebite wrapped up, it is starting to look unlikely that the vampire drama will return for a second year.

Moonhaven takes place on a Utopian colony on the surface of the Moon that may be essential to the survival of the human race.  But when one Earth-person is accused of a crime, a darker side to this paradise is revealed.  It stars Emma McDonald, Dominic Monaghan, Amara Karan, Ayelet Zurer, Joe Manganiello, and Kadeem Hardison.

The 2021-22 regular season has ended, but there are still quite a number of shows waiting for word on their fate (more on that at this link) plus several Summer entries.
