Sci Fi TV Highlights: Premieres for Paper Girls, Salvage Marines, and Harley Quinn S3

Sci Fi/Fantasy TV Shows Premiering This Week


Paper Girls (Premieres July 29th on Prime Video): It’s the day after Halloween in 1988 when four young friends accidentally stumble into an intense time war and find themselves inexplicably transported to the year 2019. When they come face-to-face with their adult selves, each girl discovers her own strengths as together they try to find a way back to the past while saving the world of the future. The series premiere will be available for streaming on Friday. 



Salvage Marines (Premieres July 28th on Crackle/PopconFlix): In a grim future of corporate tyranny and deep space combat, Samuel Hyst has endured his life as a factory laborer, daring not to dream of a life beyond the polluted industrial planet of Baen 6. Everything changes when his young wife, Sura, reveals that she is pregnant. Now Samuel is faced with the harsh reality that his child will be born into the same debt servitude that he was. Determined to create a better life for his growing family, Samuel and his best friend Ben Takeda sign up for the hazardous life of a salvage marine, the foot soldiers of a militarized deep space operation. All episodes will be available for streaming on Thursday.



Harley Quinn (Season 3 premieres July 28th on HBO Max): The mayhem and madness continue in season three of this biting and uproarious adult animated comedy series. Wrapping up their “Eat. Bang! Kill. Tour,” Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy return to Gotham as the new power couple of DC villainy. Along with their ragtag crew – King Shark, Clayface, Frank the Plant – “Harlivy” strives to become the best version of themselves while also working towards Ivy’s long desired plan of transforming Gotham into an Eden paradise.  The first three episodes of Season 3 will be available for streaming on Thursday.

Schedule Notes

FOX has been running repeats of its Fantasy Island reboot on Tuesdays a 9 PM EST.   The new season of that show will premiere either later in Fall or at Mid-Season.
