Sci Fi TV Listings for the Week of January 14th: Premieres for Star Trek: Discovery S2 and The Passage, Returns of The Flash, Supernatural, and More

Weekly roundup of science fiction and fantasy shows (as well as movies/specials of note) on the Prime Time TV schedule, also including programs that may be of interest to genre fans. Air dates and times subject to change without notice.

Mid-Season shifts into high gear this week with five premieres and quite a number of Fall shows returning from hiatus. Probably the most anticipated premiere of the week is Star Trek: Discovery which has its second season bow on CBS All Access on Thursday. Like last year, that show will be releasing one episode per week throughout its second season. On Monday, FOX’s vampire-pandemic series The Passage has its series premiere. On Tuesday, The CW’s reboot of the aliens-among-us series Roswell (now titled Roswell: New Mexico) has its debut. On Wednesday, Syfy’s assassin school series Deadly Class has its premiere. And on Friday, the supernatural series A Discovery of Witches debuts on the Shudder and Sundance Now streaming services (that one has already aired its first season over in Britain). As for shows returning from hiatus, most of The CW shows resume new episodes this week with Arrow, Black Lightning, and Legacies holding off until next week for their returns (Legends of Tomorrow will be back in April with new episodes). There are still more shows on the way this month, and you can see the full Mid-season schedule at this link.

Schedule Notes: If a show is listed as On Hiatus, that means that it is taking a break of more than two episodes in a row. If a streaming series is included in the listings after its premiere date, then it releases new episodes once per week on that day as opposed to releasing its entire season at one time.
