The Charts: Galavant Lands on All Four Charts with Its Debut

There wasn’t much activity in the charts for the New Year’s week, but the final day of that week–Sunday–did bring some notable activity. ABC’s Galavant had its debut that night, and while its ratings were nothing to sing about, it did manage to land in all four of the charts that I track here. The series premiere took the Number 6 slot on the broadcast network chart tracking the ratings in the 18-49 demo and also appearred at Number 16 in the chart based on total viewers. That’s largely because there was not much competition for the week, but that 2.0 score might have still kept it in the ratings Top 25 for a normal week based on the numbers we have been seeing this season. Galavant also made it to the Number 8 slot on the Nielsen Twitter Ratings and was all the way up to Number 2 on the General Sentiment charts that track social network activity. That at least brings the show plenty of notice on multiple platforms for its debut, but we will have to see where it falls out in next week’s tally when it has more competition. The only other genre entry in the charts was TNT’s The Librarians which slipped to the lower rungs as it had plenty of competition over the week from college and pro football.
