Season 3 Description: The third season of Interview with the Vampire, which has been retitled The Vampire Lestat, shifts the focus away from Louis and places Lestat front and center as he finally tells his side of the story. Inspired primarily by Anne Rice’s second Vampire Chronicles novel, the new season follows Lestat de Lioncourt as he embraces life as a flamboyant rock star in the modern era.

Status: This show has not drawn particularly highly linear ratings, especially in its third season, but according to AMC it is performing quite well on their streaming service. That network’s chief content officer and president of AMC Studios Dan McDermott had the following to say about the show:
On our streaming platform, we had a 30-day estimate for the show in terms of how it would perform, and it exceeded the 30-day estimate in seven days, and it has now doubled the 30-day estimate in the first 20 days. To say it’s significantly over-performing for us would be accurate.
He went on to say that they are considering doing at least two more seasons and looking at the books The Queen of the Damned and The Tale of the Body Thief for the next stories to adapt. That doesn’t quite count as an official renewal yet, but since it is coming from the AMC boss, it is about as close as you can get. Expect an announcement on this one at anytime.
