Freeform’s superhero series Cloak & Dagger received its renewal notice at its Comic Con panel on Friday. That show debuted in June to good ratings for its network, but it saw those fluctuate notably in subsequent weeks. But it has still done well enough and both the series and its network are owned by Disney, so I have been considering it a decent candidate for renewal. The second season will consist of ten episodes and will debut in Spring of 2019. The first season will be wrapping up on August 2nd.
Cloak & Dagger is based on the Marvel comic book of the same name about two teenagers who receive mysterious powers, one of light and one of darkness, and their powers work better when they are close together. It stars Olivia Holt, Aubrey Joseph, Gloria Reuben, and Andrea Roth and takes place in the same universe as the Marvel movies.
With Comic-Con in full swing, there may be more announcements this weekend. Stay tuned to this site and the Cancelled Sci Fi Twitter Site for breaking news and updates.
