Cancellation Watch: Eric Kripke Sends Out a Plea to Fans to Help Timeless

NBC’s time travel series Timeless barely escaped cancellation last year, in fact it was actually cancelled then uncancelled. And that show is struggling again in its second season with ratings that have it very much On the Bubble at this point. Series co-creator and showrunner Eric Kripke has posted a letter to fans on his Twitter feed asking for their help. He says that over the next two episodes (the season finale is Sunday May 13th) more people need to be watching the show. He calls for fans to watch live, but that only helps if they are among the Nielsen families. Live-tweeting during the episode (which indicates you are watching) will definitely help, though, because that gets the show trending and that activity can be measured beyond just the Nielsen families. Re-watch parties of the show online and/or at Hulu this week would definitely help as well. I have also noticed that the Timeless Writers account is promoting the hashtag #RenewTimeless today, so fans should jump on that and use it throughout the week. It is important to just use the one hashtag per tweet, because multiple hashtags are not counted for trending. Below is the letter from Kripke, and the time for the Call to Action from fans is now if they want this show to stick around for a third season.

  1. I agree with my brother. We both enjoy “Timeless” and anything associated with time travel and history. Please renew “Timeless” for a 3rd season.

  2. Please renew “Timeless” for a third season.
I love history and any thing which deals with time travel.
I can barely wait until the next episode is shown

  3. Please renew Timeless. I rush home from work to try and watch live. I love the history, the friendships and the riverarly and besting the big bad Rittenhouse.
