This week brings two more mid-season premieres: Genndy Tartakovsky’s acclaimed animated series Samurai Jack returns after ten years for its fifth season on Adult Swim, and the animated Guardians of the Galaxy will be returning (with almost no advance notice) for its second season on Disney XD. Both of those shows will be airing on Saturday nights. Wrapping up this week, The CW’s Vampire Diaries has its series finale on Friday, capping off an eight year run on that network. And Freeform’s Shadowhunters will have its Season 2 finale on Monday. Apart from that, it is mostly business as usual for the week, which means plenty of sci fi and fantasy shows to choose from across the broadcast nets, cable channels, and streaming services.
