The Charts: Agents of SHIELD Makes it Into the Top 25, The 100 Rises on the General Sentiment Charts

agents-of-shield-s2-cancelledLast season, ABC’s Agents of SHIELD was a fixture in the Top 25 based on the ratings in the 18-49 demographic from the overnights. This season, though, with the show’s ratings slump it had yet to make an appearance in that chart. But when last week’s numbers were tallied, it managed to eke its way in to the Number 24 slot. Of course that is partially because the December lull has already hit and several shows have also gone on hiatus, thus reducing the competition. But the other side is that Agents of SHIELD has seen an upswing in its numbers just recently, so that helped its scrape its way onto the charts. Unfortunately, after this week’s Fall finale–which was down slightly but still better than where the show has been–AoS goes on a three and a half month hiatus which will likely kill any of the momentum it was building. But that’s Network shenanigans for you. Also of interest, The CW’s struggling The 100 managed to climb to the Number 5 slot on the General Sentiment charts that track social network activity for the broadcast network shows.  That was after it took a break over the Thanksgiving week, and it shows that the fans have remained active on the social nets.  The ratings for The 100 have improved slightly the last couple of airings, so maybe they are getting the word out about the show.  Also, new entry The Librarians from TNT made it to the Number 3 slot on the cable Top 25 based on total viewers, beating out American Horror Story for the week, and also debuted at the Number 11 slot on the General Sentiment chart for the cable networks, where it lagged behind AHS
