Chart activity for sci fi / fantasy TV shows for the week of June 16th through 22nd:

the-last-ship-tnt-cancelledThere was chart activity for the prior week and it did NOT involve Game of Thrones (which wrapped up its fourth season the previous week).  TNT’s new series The Last Ship had a decent debut which managed to land it at the Number 7 slot on the cable Top 25 based on total viewers.  And while the rating number that it pulled was nothing to get too excited about (a 1.2 score in the 18-49 demographic), the show’s network still gets to parade this one as a hit for now.  TNT’s other debuting sci fi series–Falling Skies which had its fourth season bow–made it into the Top 25 as well at the Number 17 slot.  And HBO’s True Blood returned for its seventh (and final) season at the Number 10 rung on that chart.  That latter series also found its way into the Nielsen Twitter TV Ratings Top 10 at the Number 10 spot.  On the broadcast networks, only a repeat of Person of Interest made it into the charts (the Top 25 based on total viewers), but just barely at the Number 25 slot.  Expect CBS entry Under the Dome to show up in the broadcast net charts soon, though, as that one has its Season 2 debut on June 30th.
